Sir David Wing-cheung Tang, KBE, was humorous enough to respond my question about “How and What and Why do Writers Write?” at the Open Public Forum of Hong Kong Book Fair in July 2016 - “Heather Cai. Write it down and you can tell people you’ve met her before she is famous.” It was obviously a joke but somehow more than a joke that moves me to have my writing dream come true.
This book wouldn’t have been possible without the wild call from Vincent van Gogh, Simone de Beauvoir, Henry Miller, and William Faulkner, whose voices, near and far, have drawn me closer and closer to the world of literature and art with such pleasure and mystery. Their notable works and noble spirit have deeply touched me almost as Buddhas guiding my whole life.
